Diageo extends EQMS deployment to Scottish operations

Diageo Global Supply has extended its use of the web-based EQMS Quality Management software solutions provided by Qualsys Limited, the independent software company of Sheffield. Diageo is the world's leading premium drinks business with an outstanding collection of beverage alcohol brands across spirits, wine and beer categories. These brands include: Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, Guinness, Baileys, J&B, Captain Morgan, Cuervo, Tanqueray, and Beaulieu Vineyard and Sterling Vineyards wines.

Diageo's Global Supply business has been using EQMS since May 2005 to underpin its Quality Management System in the Guinness & European Ready To Drink business providing global access to controlled process information, automating document review and approval and workflowing corrective and preventive activity.

The EQMS solution will now be used to manage the quality system for Diageo's Scottish operations. With four maltings, 27 malt distilleries, two grain distilleries, three production plants and eight major warehousing and blending sites, Scotland has over 2,400 employees across 45 locations around Scotland. Diageo is the largest single producer of Scotch whisky.

Mike Pound, Managing Director or Qualsys said, "It is great that a customer like Diageo has recognised the value of EQMS to its business.  We have an excellent track record of repeat business with all our customers but we  have always recognised that this is only possible through the continuous improvement of our products and services."
