22 March 2004 Chevron Texaco automates Incident Management and Supplier Approval processes with Active Forms from Qualsys FAMM is the Field and Marine Fuels Division of Chevron-Texaco, the global enterprise, highly competitive across all energy sectors. FAMM were looking for an electronic solution to streamline the global management of their supplier approval process and incident management. These processes were managed by the use of paper forms, logs and analysis spreadsheets. Information was manually replicated across the various records, with the attendant potential for mistakes, individualised terminology and transcription errors. Chris Mann, O.E./HE&S Manager - Europe, wanted to remove the potential for mistakes, make relevant information readily available to the many people who needed it and improve business efficiency. From a management perspective Chris wanted easily obtainable consolidated views across the entire business of performance achieved, work outstanding, work done and trends. FAMM was an existing user of an EQMS document management solution. EQMS was already home to controlled template forms. Qualsys offered to generate dynamic, on-line Active Forms to collect all of the relevant data into a single searchable database. Having agreed a specification Qualsys developed two suites of forms to manage the two processes. The forms now provide access to view / update relevant data to all staff who require it. They provide automated reports and analysis of consolidated data to all relevant users. Using EQMS allows FAMM to provide a single portal to access the forms and to control user access to relative areas of functionality. EQMS also workflows activity to initiate and track progress against action plans. The benefits are already being realised. FAMM has improved communication of key information throughout the business, improved the quality and standardisation of data recording and improved the timeliness and quality of providing management information. This has led to significantly better customer response times and improvements in staff efficiency.
